Programme
(FAP) International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis,
(IIASA) Laxenburg, Austria. IIASA was established by the
National Academy of Sciences of Western and Eastern European
Countries. Japan, Canada and U.S.A. Staff members are usually
from member countries. Only a few outstanding scholars from
non-member countries are appointed. India is not a member.
To be appointed as Leader of a major program of IIASA was
a recognition. For someone from a non-member country it
was unique.
1. Technical
and administrative direction of research scholars coming
from many different countries. The project was devoted to
understanding the nature and dimension of the world food
problems and exploring policy options for 'food for all'
in an environmentally sustainable way. It involved more
than 100 person years of research effort at IIASA and nearly
200 person years from collaborating network members.
2.
Coordination of research by the participating institutions
of FAP'S collaborative network of more than 25 institutions
around the world.
3.
Research in national and international agricultural
policy.
April
'76- Research Scholar, Food and Agriculture Program,
IIASA, Austria.
