Common Property Resources and Forests

Eight of the projects funded under this theme deal with common property resources (CPRs), primarily forests in India. The issues covered range from Joint Forest Management in West Bengal to grassland resource management in Katchch, Gujarat.   The projects cover sustainable management of CPR, benefits to the forest fringe economy, economic analysis of forest-based livelihood systems, sustainable extraction levels of forest products, and institutional aspects associated with CPRs.
