Invitation to attend the International Webinar on
“Socio-Economic Impacts of Heat Waves in a Warming World”
12 August 2026 | 1500-1700 HRS (IST) / 0930-1130 (GMT)
Dear Colleague,
Greetings from IRADe!
The decade 2014-2024 was the warmest on record, with 2024 being the warmest year since global meteorological records began. In 2026, severe and prolonged heat conditions affected the globe, particularly in South Asia and Europe. Rising temperatures and humidity are increasing heat stress risks, affecting human health, labour productivity, ecosystem services, and critical infrastructure.
Heat stress has emerged as a major economic and social challenge, particularly for the labour-intensive sectors of the economy that the low-income population depends upon most. It is critical to safeguard the economies from the adverse socio-economic impact of heat stress and build heat-resilient economies
We are pleased to invite you to, International webinar on ““Socio-Economic Impacts of Heat Waves in a Warming World”. The webinar is being organised as a part of PRITHVI – IRADe monthly flagship webinar series.
